Post Match Quotes – Alex Rae (13/08/2016)

Saints went down 3-1 to Raith Rovers this afternoon and it is clear to see that St Mirren manager Alex Rae wasn’t happy with his side’s performance at Stark’s Park.
He said: “It was just not good enough, we were second best for fifty-five minutes. We go in and give them a bollocking at half-time and then we concede two goals in a couple of minutes, it’s not acceptable.
“Generally we were second best all round. It is actually concerning me the manner in which we’re not willing to roll up our sleeves, it is not something I would associate with any team I’ve been involved with as a player or a manager, and we’ll need to get on top of it.”
The Saints gaffer was asked about next week’s game against Hibernian: “One of the good things about Hibs coming is they are one of the big teams. But we’ll need to do a lot better than this, this is unacceptable.
“That was thirty minutes against Morton and fifty-five minutes there where we just lack desire. We’ve got some right good footballers in there but we’ve been in the game long enough to realise that you have to roll up your sleeves first and foremost and earn the right to play, but we need to get on top of this quickly.”
