And the winner will get the chance to perform in front of hundreds of shoppers at the mall’s Christmas lights switch-on and be presented with a £300 intu Braehead Gift Card to spend.

Singers and musicians are being asked to email links to their music on YouTube, SoundCloud, or Facebook to braehead.information@intu.co.uk along with contact details and background information.

Musical acts either solo, or groups over the age of 16 will then be chosen to perform before a panel of judges at the shopping centre, on Monday, July 25.

The final audition, on Saturday, August 6 will be in front an audience of more than 100 at a staff Fun Day with representatives from intu Braehead, intu Eldon Square, Newcastle and intu Metro Centre, Gateshead in the audience.

At the end of these performances the audience will vote for the winner.

Marketing manager for intu Braehead, Christine Macdonald said: “We know that Scotland’s got talent and we want to showcase that talent at intu Braehead.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for a singer, or musician to perform in front of a huge audience at our Christmas lights switch-on.”
For a bit of fun, intu Braehead staff formed an impromptu band of buskers in the mall, with Willie Carmichael and Stewart Wonnacott on guitar and Donna Smith playing the didgeridoo. And the trio certainly caught the ear of shoppers David and Christine Connelly who stopped to give them a listen.
