Paisley is gearing up for its tastiest food and drink extravaganza yet with a global menu of street foods and taste sensations.

Food Festival 163

The Paisley Food Festival will set taste buds tingling with a feast of Mexican, Indian, Africa, Italian and Scottish foods coming to Abbey Close on Saturday 23 April.

Top TV chef Nick Nairn will put aspiring cooks through their paces during two live cooking demos – at 2pm and 4.30pm.

Plus, kids can also join in the hands-on cooking fun with free cupcake, pizza and chocolate treat workshops on from noon until 6pm.

Twinning the bill is Scotland’s biggest real ale festival – the Paisley Beer Festival – on from Wednesday 20 until Saturday 23 April in Paisley Town Hall.

With more real ales on tap than ever before, organisers CAMRA Renfrewshire have arranged breweries from A – Z to make it easier to find the beers.

Renfrewshire’s Provost Anne Hall said: “The Paisley Food Festival is set for be even bigger and better than before – having been extended into the evening and with more vendors, attractions and entertainment than ever before.

“The cooking demos with Nick Nairn and the kids food workshops are bound to be a big draw for many, so book early to ensure you get your place.

“With the beer festival happening at the same time I am sure it will be a great day out and I would encourage people to come down and support the event.

“Events like this are a great way to bring people in and show off everything Paisley has to offer as the town’s bid for UK City of Culture 2021 builds momentum.”
