St Mirren have signed Alex Cooper in a deal until the end of this season after the midfielder was released by Falkirk.
Alex, who is the son of former Aberdeen player, Neale Cooper, started out on his career as a youth player with Ross County but he was snatched up by Liverpool where he got to Reserve team level.
In 2011 he returned to Dingwall where he went on to make 35 appearances for Ross County as well as having a spell out on loan with Elgin City over the second half of the 2011/12 season.
In the summer of 2014 Alex made the move to Falkirk where he made 33 appearances for the Bairns, scoring 6 goals in the process.
The 24-year-old has been assigned squad number 29.
Alex said of his signing: “I got a phone call last week saying there was interest and if I’d be keen to do it and straight away I was looking to get it done.
“I play either side of midfield and like to get crosses in, try to get shots away and try to make things happen on the pitch. I’ll give my all on the pitch and hopefully contribute to a positive end to the season.”
