Enjoy a Scottish Day Out in London

London is one of those locations that many people dream of visiting. So, instead of seeing this as a possible travel destination when you close your eyes at night, why not make this vision into a reality? There are so many fun things to do in London; we couldn’t possibly discuss them all here with you today. So, let’s focus on some of the best Scottish attractions in London.  If you choose to take part in these, you may just feel like you’re still at home.

Feast like Kings and Queens

You cannot travel all the way to London and not spend at least one day enjoying the food and drink in the city, Scottish style. Albannach, located in Trafalgar Square, is a must-stop location. This is a modern Scottish bar that doubles as a restaurant. Try their one of a kind, to die for malts and their chicken-liver pate flambéed. Downstairs, you can take a peek at the Doon, a cocktail bar that is the perfect place to begin a night out.

For those with a more traditional pallet, Boisdale of Belgravia on Eccleston Street is the place to go. The gorgeous wood panelling and tartan carpeting is unbelievable. And, you absolutely have to try the whisky before checking out any other bars!

Finally, you should also try some afternoon tea in London.  There are lots of places that serve this with the Landmark London being one of the best.  If you want to make it a little bit more Scottish, you can always ask for some whisky to be added to your beverages.

Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow

We believe dancing and letting loose should be a huge part of every trip. You only live once, so might as well live it up, right? If you want to meet some great people, have some fun together and create memories, then there are a few places you may want to look into. For one, the Ceilidh Club meets at various venues and is a one of a kind experience. There is also the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society that meets throughout the year and the Gay Gordons which is London’s lesbian and gay Scottish country dance group.

Get Your Blood Pumping Socially

If you want to meet people, and take part in some sports, the London Scottish Golf Club is a great place to start to ease your way into the social scene. This extraordinary 18 hole course set on Wimbledon Common is the longest continuously played on course in England, and makes the perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon among friends.

London is one of those places in the world that isn’t quite like any other. It’s so easy to get lost in the diversity, the entertainment and the beauty. Once you visit, it’s highly unlikely you’ll want to return. This is a wonderful place to explore and get to know the world on a larger scale. The people are great, the food is amazing and the environment is something you won’t soon forget.
