An exhibition by artists with a lived experience of mental ill-health from Phoenix Activity Group who meet weekly in Mile End Mill to develop their artistic skills. Paintings and art work are available for sale. ‘Made in the Mill’ a crafters collective will exhibit and sell unique hand made goods on Tues 7th and Tues 14th Oct.

“Out of Town Productions present Chat Room.

A young boy needs help. Strangers are coaxing him to end his life. Whose job is it to save him? The six teenagers in Chatroom never meet, they communicate via the internet. Conversations range from Britney Spears to Willy Wonka…and then to suicide.

Jim is depressed and talks of ending it all. Eva and William decide to do their utmost to persuade him to carry out his threat. From this chilling premise writer Enda Walsh has forged a funny, compelling and uplifting play which tackles many teenage issues head on with great understanding.

This performance will be followed by a short Q&A session

    Discover how film and music have supported people’s recovery. Special guest is songer/songwriter, Steph Macleod, who has experienced homelessness and is in recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol. Steph wrote his first song ‘Alcoholic Synonymous’ within 2 weeks of gaining a place in a homeless hostel. He will share his story through words and song. The Recovery Café is a weekly gathering of people supporting each other in recovery from addictions.

  1. SUNSHINE ON LEITH (2013)

Come along to this family-friendly screening of the Dexter Fletcher’s heart warming musical film Sunshine on Leith, based on the sensational stage hit of the same name.  The film, featuring music by pop-folk band The Proclaimers, follows the stories of Davy and Ally, who have to re-learn how to live life in Edinburgh after coming home from serving in Afghanistan. Both struggle to learn to live a life outside the army and to deal with the everyday struggles of family, jobs and relationships.

A pre-show performance of featured songs and you can sing a long!

A post-show discussion, with surprise guests involved with the film, will give people a chance to talk about some of the issues dealt with in the film.

  2. GOD HELP THE GIRL
