This is an amazing Effort from every member
The group is going from strength to strength with over 1300 members and are now sponsored by the local company storagevault.co.uk in clark street who have donated several storage units to store the constant donations we get
We are also looking for volunteers who can drive and can pick up items that are donated

Facebay Fundraising was setup April 2012 after visiting local charity shops and seeing how inflated prices could be in high street charity shops
We had previously setup a facebay group to give away unwanted items and realised that we could also help charities while helping people that did not have a lot of money so Facebay Fundraising was born
How the group works
People donate their unwanted items to the Admins or workers of the site
The admins of the site then list the unwanted items, stating how much each item is.
If you have donated items to us, you may specify a charity you wish the money to go to, otherwise we will allocate the money to the charities.
People can advertise their items on the page and pay the proceeds from any sale via the justgiving links but the preferred method at the moment is to drop the money off to one of the admin
As the group expands to cover the whole of Scotland we will have to rely on peoples honesty in paying the money through justgiving
The charities we support are
Macmillan Cancer Support
MND Scotland
PDSA Scotland
Alzheimer Scotland
Yorkhill Children’s Hospital
Down’s syndrome Scotland
The RAH Kids Ward does not have a Just Giving page, however at Christmas we organise a present drop of toys and gifts.
In the past year we have raised over £9000 for the charities on our group by selling unwanted items we have had great support from the community and local businesses and groups including
St Mirren FC
We have also arranged various events including boot fairs, jumble sales, Psychic nights , Sponsored walks and cycle rides
We have 1380 members on the facebay group and our aim is to expand from being a mainly local paisley and surrounding area group to a group that covers the whole of Scotland
We believe that the group is the first of its kind and it is a unique way of supporting charities
