Gleniffer High School has been crowned Renfrewshire’s Got to Dance champion 2012 seeing off stiff competition from 6 other acts including runners up Renfrew High School.
The dance act of 22 girls wowed the judges with a performance made up of a mix of genres to a Beyonce megamix.
Seven teams took part in the second annual Got to Dance competition which took place on Wednesday 16 May.
Among the judges was Natalie Still from Johnstone who will carry the Olympic Flame through Lochwinnoch,
Leeanne McPhail, Active Schools Co-ordinator who organised the competition said: “My congratulations go to Gleniffer High School. Their performance was fantastic and they are very deserved winners. The judges thoroughly enjoyed all the acts and we’ve had excellent feedback from the pupils who took part.
“Dance not only helps young people stay active, but it encourages them to be creative and has a great social element of bringing them together to have fun at the same time.
“Renfrewshire Active Schools Got to Dance 2012 was a huge success and my thanks go to everyone involved.”
