Local Employment Champion to host Museum Lunch Talk


Local man Michael McEwan, 28 , from Barrhead is a guest speaker on Weds 28th March from 12.30pm, as part of Paisley Museum’s season of Lunchtime Talks , in conjuction with Renfrewshire Arts & Events

Michael works for Scottish Consortium for Learning Disabilities (SCLD) as an Employment Champion, and his role takes him all over Scotland to give this presentation,based on his  personal journey into the workplace. This gives a greater insight and understanding in to the barriers faced by disabled people whilst seeking employment. In it he speaks about his transition from school to college and the difficulties he faced in trying to gain employment as part of disability community.

A few of the organisations who have hosted these talks are Scottish Centre for Autism, Down’s Syndrome Scotland and Enable.

On 27th March,Michael and SCLD will hold a day of Employment Champion presentations and workshops at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow for charity Living with Long Term Conditions (LTCAS)
