Scotland’s first ever conference for parent bloggers will be held in May

The Parental Circle Bloggers Fest is the first chance for Scotland’s lively blogging
community to come together, meet and learn new skills.

Hosted by Parental Circle, the online help and sharing site, the Bloggers Fest will be
a mixture of learning and socialising.

Parental Circle founder and CEO Christopher McCann said: “For us, hosting the
Bloggers Fest is a natural extension of what we do at Parental Circle. Using the
Internet and social media allows parents to develop social and support networks and
to share experience and advice with other parents.

“Parental Circle Blogger Fest will extend parents’ social media skills as well as
inspire discussion about new ways of using the Internet to support the wider
parenting community. It will be a great fun day and I can’t wait to meet everyone.”

Established bloggers as well as parents who are interested in starting a blog are
welcome at the day-long event, held at Parental Circle’s Paisley headquarters on
Saturday, May 7, 2011.

Speakers will be key figures in the online community and there will be a choice of
workshops and presentations throughout the day. Topics will include internet safety,
photography for blogs, working with PRs and using the major blog platforms.

Christopher added: “We know Scotland has a friendly and varied parent blogger
community, many of whom we ‘know’ online. It’ll be really exciting to meet these
people and, hopefully, to encourage new bloggers to get the bug.”

Parental Circle allows parents to ask questions and share their experience with other
parents. Parents from all over the world are part of the circle and share their
experience, knowledge and news.

Tickets for the event will cost £20 for Parental Circle members (£25 for nonmembers and membership is free). It will run from 9.15am to 4.30pm and includes
lunch, tea and coffee. For more information visit www.parentalcircle.com.
