Renfrewshire residents will be running, walking, cycling and sailing during a week of active events later this month.

A series of events staring with a youth cycling challenge on Friday 20 August will run through to Sunday 29 August with the Paisley 10K Road Race, making up the Big Active Week.

Councillor Susan McDonald, Renfrewshire Council’s Sports Champion, said: “The Big Active Week is part of the Active Renfrewshire strategy to give people of all ages across Renfrewshire opportunities to get out and get fit and healthy. The range of events taking place shows how much Renfrewshire has to offer no matter what your ability. We hope to see as many people as possible taking part in these events.”

The Youth Cycling Challenge runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Erskine Harbour, Kilpatrick Drive for 10 – 18 year olds. Renfrewshire Council Youth Services are running the event which comprises races for under 12s, 14s and 16s on the Scottish Cycling Circuit Race Championship course, a mobile skatepark for BMX and skateboards and a bike skills challenge.
