Summer Newsletter

Welcome to the Summer edition of our e-newsletter. This time of year is quieter than usual from an events point of view however this gives us the opportunity to plan ahead with some new ideas and to think of ways of improving some old favourites. We have been very busy before the holiday season and below you will read about our very successful Midnight Walk and Summer Fayre. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved in any of our events

Cumbrae Capers!! Saturday 28th August

This event has proved to be very popular over the past few years. It’s quite simply a sponsored event challenging youu to get round the island by your preferred method – walking/cycling/roller-blading ….whatever. Last year we had someone pulling a tractor tyre!!! A good fun day for all and we even buy you a roll at the Dancing Midge in Millport!!

Supermarket Collections

We have quite a few collections and bag packs coming up in various locations including Tesco Silverburn, the Piazza, The Paisley Centre and Braehead. If you can spare a couple of hours and would like to help us please get in touch.

Golf Competition 22nd September

We still have some places left for our annual golf event which is played on one of the best links courses in Scotland, Western Gailes at Irvine. Cost is £120 per person and includes coffee/roll on arrival and a three course buffet after your game.

Annual Dinner 29th October

Our Dinners always prove popular and this year will be no exception as we have secured the services of the award winning after dinner speaker, Sandy Strang. Please contact us for more information

Recent Events

The past few months have been very busy for us and we have been thrilled with the response to our new event, the Midnight Walk. Over 300 supporters, the vast majority of whom were new to us, joined us for a sponsored walk over the Erskine Bridge. So far, we have raised over £13,000 and this figure is rising every day. Many thanks to everyone who took part and we are sure that this event will be repeated next year.

Our Summer Fayre was again very successful and we are delighted to report another record year with over £29.000 raised for Hospice funds

and finally……. Facebook and Twitter

Just a wee reminder to check us out on these social media sites which will keep you right up to date.

lastly, we hope that you are all enjoying the summer and your holidays!!
