Blue Hen

Paisley Town Hall 7:30pm
£12 (£10 conc)

Suitable for ages 16 +. Contains some strong language.

Following the huge success of ‘Singin` I`m No a Billy, He`s a Tim’, award winning writer, Des Dillon is back with another gripping production. Starring Coronation Street’s Jim McDonald, Blue Hen is a gritty and moving drama.

Paddy and John are two ordinary working class guys who are out of work and out of luck when they come up with a plan to keep them occupied and keep their bellies full. They’re going to rear chickens in their garden and sell the eggs for profit. But it’s not easy being the only honest men in Coatbridge’s roughest scheme and their venture doesn’t exactly go to plan. As their dreams of self-sufficiency crumble, a powerful story of friendship against the odds unfolds.

Oscar and the Highland Castle

Paisley Arts Centre 2pm

Suitable for ages 4+

It’s 1307. Scotland lies defeated and Robert the Bruce is hiding from the English…..

Answering a call for help, Oscar the mouse leaves his attic home and heads for Loch Ness where he finds Incy Wincy Spider among the ruins of an old castle. Mysteriously swept back in time, Oscar joins Incy’s campaign to free the castle from English rule and restore Scotland’s independence!

With a beautiful blend of ultraviolet technology and traditional shadow puppetry, together with up-beat music, one of Scotland’s most evocative folktales comes vividly to life in a show which is funny, absorbing and educational.
